Enter your account's numbers. The calculator returns how many contracts your stop allows, the dollars you actually risk, and how many full losses in a row your drawdown cushion can take before the account fails. It runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Print the rules that go with this. Free: the Pre-Trade Checklist + Daily Risk Card (PDF, tick values and a losses-in-a-row table included).
Track the floor every day, check payout eligibility and size every trade in one spreadsheet: the Prop Firm Trader Bundle (4 tools, $29.99) or the Combine Pass Planner alone.
How the calculator works
Contracts = risk per trade ÷ (stop in ticks × tick value + fees), rounded down, and never above your firm's maximum. Losses in a row to the floor = cushion ÷ the risk you actually take with that many contracts. While you are in an evaluation, keep it at 8 or more: eight losing trades in a row is uncommon but not rare for a 45% win-rate strategy over a few weeks.
With a trailing drawdown the cushion changes every day, so the safe size changes too. Read trailing vs static drawdown, explained with numbers, the futures position size guide, and the prop firm challenge FAQ. More free tools: the trailing drawdown calculator and the pass probability calculator.
